Cooler temperatures are here, which means one of our favorite things: layering! We love layering luxurious slips and fabrics under our clothing, whether it's a basic black dress or jeans and a cashmere sweater.
While traditionally layering lingerie has meant adding layers of lingerie under your clothes, the lingerie as outerwear trend has now taken over and many lingerie pieces are worth showing off. We've jumped on board this trend as well, creating several pieces that can work as lingerie or as outerwear over your favorite evening gown or cocktail dress.

Multi-purpose luxury pieces are a wonderful way to incorporate beautiful lingerie into our life! The Viola Hazel tutu/capelet can be worn as an evening cape around the shoulders, an unusual peplum-style lace belt around the waist over a dress (a red or gold dress especially would look lovely) making it perfect for the boudoir or the opera house.
The Cassiopeia beaded kimono is the most luxurious piece that we have ever created! It's made entirely from hand beaded gold glass trailing fringe beads and pearls, with a lining of sheer tulle underneath. While this piece would look perfectly at home at a boudoir photo shoot, it also makes a stunning evening coat over a black or ivory dress. Wear it over the coordinating double layered silk lining kimonos, in either black or cream, for added opacity (and the added luxury of silk next to skin) then wear them alone for chic simplicity in silk.
Half slips are thought of as old fashioned, but for us they've never gone out of style. If you're full busted, a silk half slip frees you from worrying about cup sizes and feels wonderful against your skin. A half slip will also help your skirt or dress drape and lie perfectly, and avoid any static from hosiery: trust us, you'll notice the difference once you try it. We love this berry colored version from our Eleanor Damson collection, which is the perfect color for autumn.
Bold jewel tones are wonderful for cooler weather, as you're unlikely to be wearing anything that color will show through! We love this lovely silk and lace slip in indigo, which is the perfect bright pop of color to get you through even the darkest depths of winter.
Sometimes the basics are best, especially when they're silk! We've trimmed this silk slip with gorgeous matching lace. It's a touch of luxury that you can wear for years to come. The cream colour works great for lighter coloured dresses and skirts too, for when you've just had enough of dark winter colours for the time being!
While our silk gowns were designed as loungewear pieces, they double as evening dresses easily! We've taken our love of 1930's designs and adapted them for full bust sizing, up to a G cup. A silk sash in back helps create a custom fit, while the bias cut silk flows over curves beautifully, allowing plenty of room for a fuller cup size without digging in with misplaced seams.
This sheer slip is meant to be seen! While it can be worn as a half slip, we love it over another slip so the design elements can add visual interest to your outfit. Another fun way to wear it is with a slightly shorter skirt, so the sheer black embroidery peeks out from underneath your hem.
Beige doesn't have to be boring! We love the contrast of colors in our Viola Hazel slip, which combines sheer caramel tulle with beautifully intricate red lace and a double layered gold silk waistband, with silk covered button detailing at the back. Wear it over a plain slip beneath to really let the lace detailing shine, and add the matching tutu cape from the same collection, either around the waist for a striking double-lace look, or as a capelet around the shoulders for a coordinating outfit.
