We've taken part again the Lingerie Secret Santa, organised by the designer Karolina Laskowska, where independent designers all gift each other some beautiful lingerie, right around the time of year we could all do with something pretty to treat our frantic selves!
My gift was from the wonderful Ayten Gasson, who creates ethically made, vintage inspired silk goodness, from right here in Brighton. In my beautifully packaged box, I received two pairs of utterly gorgeous silk knickers, an eye mask, lavender bag (what a nice touch!) and a stunning cape-style bed jacket, which I later discovered was trimmed with a genuine vintage cotton lace, made in England in the 1960's. I love thinking about wearing a little piece of history like that, whilst still having all of the benefits of a new garment (like it fitting perfectly, and all matching!)
The detailing on all of it is just lovely, and the bed jacket is such a unique shape it would work perfectly worn out as a little jacket over a party dress as well. There's something very pleasing about knowing the little lavender bag matches everything as well, and is there in my lingerie chest scenting everything whilst still coordinating.
A lot of Ayten's work uses peace silk and organic silk too, as well as up cycled British laces, and some delicious colours, so if you're looking for some vintage chic with a truly ethical standpoint (not to mention gorgeous designs!) definitely take a peek at her work. I know I'll be enjoying floating around in her lovely pieces for a good time to come!
